Programs and Services
Our IMPACT Community coalitions in Dallas, Ellis and Navarro counties are designed to have widespread community impact. We measure outcomes such as past 30-day use of alcohol, marijuana and prescription drugs and perception of risks (parents and youth). In one community, we helped reduce past 30-day use of alcohol by 60 percent. In another, we are seeing a steady decrease in past 30-day use of alcohol, marijuana and prescription drugs.
You may not be as familiar with our agency name as you are with the programs we have designed, funded, implemented and sustained in Dallas, Ellis, Navarro and Rockwall counties, including:
About one-third of youth in the communities DPR serves report it is easy to gain access to prescription drugs not prescribed to them (IMPACT Prescription Drug Survey, 2017). Yet many in these same communities do not see prescription drug misuse as a pressing issue (IMPACT Community Survey, 2018). Our goal is to increase awareness through education to help prevent youth access to prescription drugs and save lives.

Throughout this project, I learned about the problem that drugs has caused in Dallas, especially to young adults and children. I honestly feel happy about doing this project not just because it is an assignment but because I made an impact. I am happy that my team and I partnered with Drug Prevention Resources. They showed us that they care and help people.
