From Lucy De La Rosa, director of youth prevention programs, "August 31st is International Overdose Awareness Day. I am here today to share a personal story of a loved one who was in the hospital years ago and released home with a list of medications. Amongst medications there was one that was to be given every 4 hours and only when needed. The caregiver would give the medication every four hours as other medications. Fortunately, this was detected early, and a tragedy did not occur. On this day I am asking you to join forces to make a difference in working to reduce prescription drug overdose. I am asking you to read instructions, ask questions and practice safe handling to protect kids, parents, family members, and ourselves. So, in honor of this day let's make a difference in unity." #EndOverdose #OverdoseAware
