FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

(Irving, Texas) — Bobby Barker, a long-time financial analyst and senior business manager for Lehigh Hanson, Inc., Irving, has joined the Drug Prevention Resources board, Texas’ oldest non-profit agency focused on preventing substance use disorders among children and teens.

Lehigh Hanson is one of North America’s largest suppliers of heavy building materials to the construction industry.

Barker brings accounting/finance, leadership and communications skills to the board along with a deep-seated desire to promote and develop servant leadership among the board and staff.

“Bobby strongly believes that effective work and service in communities begins internally,” said Becky Vance, Drug Prevention Resources’ president and CEO. “He exudes incredible energy and passion for servant leadership and we’re excited to see his ideas for encouraging us to see through new lenses.”

Barker has an MBA in finance from the University of Dallas and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of North Texas in Denton. He and his wife and daughter live in Frisco. In his free time, Barker enjoys competing in endurance races, including marathons and triathlons. He's currently training for his fourth marathon this Spring and has an ultimate goal of completing his first Ironman within the next year.

Drug Prevention Resources unites students, families and communities in a common desire to power change and flourish in positive, drug-free environments. For more information, visit DrugPrevResources.org.
