(Irving, Texas) — James L. (Jimmy) Capra, author, speaker and CEO of Front Line Leadership Group, has joined the Drug Prevention Resources board of directors. Drug Prevention Resources is Texas’ oldest drug prevention non-profit.

Capra is known by many in the field for his 27+ years with the Drug Enforcement Administration, most recently as the chief of global operations responsible for 227 domestic offices and 86 foreign offices in 67 countries.

He is the author of Leadership at the Front Line: Lessons Learned about Loving, Leading and Legacy from a Warrior and Public Servant, and has recently published a children’s book called The Eagle and the Seagulls: A Wisdom Story for Children and Adults published by Lulu.com.

Capra has been called on to speak about contemporary leadership challenges, national security issues as well as the challenges of raising courageous children in a cowardly culture.

“Jimmy’s experiences and resources around the entire spectrum of drug abuse are second-to-none. He understands prevention because he’s seen the devastating results of abuse and all the potential consequences for individuals and communities,” Becky Vance, CEO, Drug Prevention Resources, said. “In his second career as a speaker, author and leadership coach, he is quickly becoming as renowned as during his career with DEA. We are incredibly fortunate to have Jimmy join our board.”

Prior to his DEA career, Capra served in the US Navy, US Navy Reserves, Air National Guard and was a Military Intelligence Officer. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Marist College and a Masters of Education from Seton Hall University. Jimmy has been married to his wife Shelly for over 34 years and they are the proud parents of six children.
